We use an innovative division-of-focal-plane polarization imaging technique to capture real-time high resolution data of collagen fiber alignment in connective tissues during dynamic loading. Specifically, by observing changes in birefringence of soft tissues under load, we can quantify the angle of polarization (AoP) and degree of linear polarization (DoLP). These measurements are captured in real-time and at high rates, so can be used to understand the dynamic response of tissues to load.
